Would Martha Stewart sign up to be The Golden Bachelorette?
By Ricky Valero
The Golden Bachelorette has become a hit with audiences as we follow Joan's attempt to find love. Who doesn't love the idea of celebrities following that same path and trying to find love for themselves? I know I would love to see it. Martha Stewart recently revealed that she was offered to do the show. Is she considering it? Or did she turn it down? We share everything we know.
What is The Golden Bachelorette?
After many successful seasons of single men and women attempting to lock down a loved one, the producers at ABC decided to ramp up the stakes by casting an older man in The Golden Bachelor. Gerry Turner was cast as the man looking for love, and the numbers were narrowed down to one in Theresa Nist. Unfortunately, the couple had divorces on where to settle down, leading to their divorce.
After the success of that season, ABC decided to give a lady who had her opportunity on the show ripped out from underneath her in Joan Vassos. The series follows one hopeless romantics searching for a partner to share those golden years of their life. While the series is still airing and Joan is looking for love, we find out that one famous celebrity, Martha Stewart, was offered an opportunity to find love on the show.
Would Martha Stewart star in The Golden Bachelorette?
On the most recent episode of Bravo's Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen asked if Martha Stewart would go on the show, and she responded, "Absolutely not." Cohen attempted to entice her by saying producers could offer her more money to do the show, but Stewart responded with a classic one-liner: "The guys aren't hot enough."
Her bestie, Snoop Dogg, who was on the show with her, said, "So it ain't about the money, it's about how hot the guys are." Stewart said, "Ten million ain't enough if he don't look right."
While Martha Stewart shattered our dreams of appearing on The Golden Bachelorette, it does beg the question of which celebrity would be good for the show. Kim Kardashian is the one I always go back to based on how epic it would be for the sake of the family. What's the worst that can happen, right?
The Golden Bachelorette airs Wednesdays on ABC at 8 PM EST and is available on Hulu the following day.
