The Golden Bachelorette Episode 5: Best and worst moments
By Julia Wagner
It was the week before Hometowns on this week’s episode of The Golden Bachelorette! We had multiple one-on-one dates, a classic bowling group date, and some tough decisions. Let’s get to the best and worst moments of episode 5!
1. Best moment: Bowling
As The Golden Bachelorette goes, this episode was kind of heavy. There were a lot of tears and a lot of talk about death, and we had to watch Joan make some hard choices. Thankfully, we got some levity in the light-hearted bowling group date!
There were some genuinely hilarious moments on this date. Namely, Joan shows Pascal how to put his fingers in a bowling ball. He’s really never been bowling? Pascal was also caught off guard by the bowling shirts. That’s definitely not Prada!
We also had the faintest hint of drama on the bowling group date. The men are so friendly to each other, but these producers are trying everything they can to get blood out of the stone!
Chock dominates Joan’s attention, and a couple of the other men notice, but it doesn’t really turn into anything. Oh well, at least the fun feel of the date was preserved!
Bowl on!
2. Worst moment: Boating
Mark finally got his one-on-one date! He and Joan board a yacht to get some quality time together.
Unfortunately, as the boat flowed through the water, their conversation did not flow quite so well.
There were many uncomfortable moments of silence. They seemed desperate to finish their champagne so they could loosen up a bit.
Thankfully, they are gifted a scavenger hunt on the yacht, so they finally have something to occupy them!
Granted, it may not have been as awkward in real life as it appeared on television. But given that Joan broke up with Mark later this episode, I’m guessing it was.
Goodbye, Mark. Thank you for your time on The Golden Bachelorette!
The Golden Bachelorette airs Wednesdays on ABC at 8 PM EST and is available on Hulu the following day.
