Married at First Sight episode 6 recap - don't forget about Karla

It's the final days of the honeymoons on Married at First Sight, and the couples are way too excited to get back to reality after a turbulent time in Mexico. New cracks are showing in some of the relationships, and one couple's journey takes an unexpected turn for the better. Who is ready to call it quits and who is still going strong? Let's take a look at episode 6 of MAFS.

Back to reality on Married at First Sight this week as the couple's head from their honeymoon to their homes in Chicago and move into the couple's apartment complex. Let's be real, the honeymoons were anything but dreamy for the most part for the MAFS season 18 cast. How have the couples fared during the rest of their all-inclusive vacations? Let's take a look.

Emem and Ikechi

I think these two have started to lead the pack as far as longevity. While I love Thomas and Camille, there are already cracks in their facade, while Emem and Ikechi truly seem to be each other's types. They're attracted to each other, which is a struggle for most of the other couples, have compatible communication styles, and very open to accepting each other's quirks.

The biggest challenge so far seems to be who is responsible for morning dog walks. I can understand the struggle, especially because they live in Chicago. No one wants to deal with that cold! Ikechi is willing to take one for the team, knowing his wife is not a morning person. Another major new fact he learned about Emem is she also wants kids. In case you forgot like I did, when marrying a stranger, you are not guaranteed to get matched with someone you're compatible with. Judging by the statistics on dating shows, it's actually highly unlikely. I do think Emem and Ikechi are the exception though. They seem like a well matched pair.

Each of the couples had two special dates while they were on their honeymoons, but the Ojorés got jipped. While the others had exotic spiritual ceremonies and fun paddleboarding adventures, this couple had drinks on their balcony and dinner in a pink restaurant. Does that mean they're the safest couple? Maybe I'm reading too much into it.

Odds of saying yes on decision day: 8/10

Camille and Thomas

It isn't hard to choose favorites this season, so I'm leading with my top two couples. While there does seem to be some trouble brewing in paradise already, I still think Camille and Thomas can go the distance.

Camille is used to men with more swag and "R&B smooth," which rubs Thomas the wrong way. These couples need to remember why they agreed to be on Married at First Sight in the first place. Obviously, their typical type isn't working out, so hopefully, she doesn't keep bringing up Thomas's more suburban vibe throughout their relationship. That does not appear to be the case from their couples therapy preview next week. Yikes! Cut the man some slack, Camille.

Other than that bump in the road, the two had a very cute salsa dancing date where two left feet Thomas managed to stumble his way through the lessons without breaking one of Camille's toes. Bold choice going barefoot when your man can't dance, so at least you know there's trust between the two.

Odds of saying yes on decision day: dropping them down to an 8.5/10

Michelle and David

I'm truly surprised they both haven't jumped ship entirely yet. Maybe there's a chance for these two. Michelle keeps harping on needing to not be so hard on herself, but again, I think she means David. She truly does nit pick everything the man says. And who knows, maybe he's a monster off camera. I doubt it, but stranger things have happened on reality TV.

Considering she also repeatedly shares that he's a good guy in confessionals, I don't think that's the case. I will give Michelle some credit this week. She made half hearted attempts to get to know David during their sushi rolling class and paddle boarding excursion. It even looked like they were - gasp - having fun! Who would have thought?

Don't worry, there's still drama to come. Next week, the couples check out each other's homes, and you know Michelle is not going to hide her disgust at David's living situation. I can only hope these two are the next Jamie and Doug of the Married at First Sight world.

Odds of saying yes on decision day: 2.5/10 - you're not fooling me!

Karla and Juan

Paging miss petty! Juan has a bromance brewing with David, and Karla is not having it. While joking that he forgot all about Karla during his spa day with David, Juan struck a nerve. Karla decided to get even by...not buying a suitcase for him. She made her man carry his belongings in a trash bag, which is, I guess, symbolic of how she feels about not being on Juan's mind 24/7.

Luckily, Juan has no problems calling Karla out for her antics, and after an incredibly awkward photoshoot date, lets her know in no uncertain terms that passive aggressive antics are not the way to his heart. She at least takes this well, and there are no further awkward arguments the rest of their trip.

The two also shared a romantic oceanside dinner as a date during their honeymoon. They honestly lucked out with their activity choices. While some of the others sweat it out in the woods or didn't get to leave their rooms, these two had beautiful views, including each other.

Odds of saying yes on decision day: 4/10

Madison and Allen

What in the world is a 'vibe ceremony'? It seems to be an open-air sweat lodge, complete with a temporary trio with a spiritual shaman of sorts. It's definitely not on my personal list of preferred dates, but the ceremony did seem to help Madison and Allen bond, even temporarily. Their MAFS meditation guide was also mysteriously accurate in describing both of their flaws—almost like a little birdie gave her some intel on the couple before they arrived.

I'm not sure if anyone else clocked it, but was there a scorpion in the "medicine" bottle they drank? Whatever was it in, definitely gave Allen some clarity. "I need to shut the ---- up sometimes." His words, not mine.

I do see potential there. While it's not shown on camera, Allen shared Madison was very comforting when Allen found out his friend, who was just at their wedding earlier in the week, unexpectedly passed away. She also had a sense of humor about him leaving the toilet seat up already - a crime I think most of us can relate to cringing over.

I'm not convinced they're made to last yet, though. Once they're back on their home turf, Madison makes quick work of letting Allen know what she finds attractive is taking care of yourself, going to the gym, a less quirky sense of style, and basically, not him. I know it's good to openly communicate, but not every thought needs to be voiced Madison. Rough crowd.

Bromances and sisterhoods

My favorite moments in any reality show come from the genuine friendships that spark from being in such an insane situation. We saw Juan and David bond over an unconventional spa date and two couples gatherings this week. Once, the newlyweds met for dinner and answers some uncomfortable truths about their expectations from their spouses. The farewell drinks before heading back to Chicago were a bit less memorable but still set us up for what's to come in the weeks ahead.

Look out for Juan in full time business mode, Michelle being a not-so-good sport about David's domestic life, and Emem adjusting to living with a man for the first time ever. Buckle your seat belts, MAFS fans. This flight is hitting some very expected turbulence.

Who do you think is the strongest couple so far?
