Week 2: Love is Blind Season 7: Which couples will get married?
Oof, what a ride the latest 3 episodes of Love is Blind season 7 have been. I have updates to the train wreck that is this season's engagements. Tea has been spilled, texts have been uncovered, and let's just say it's looking pretty grim for most of the couples. Spoilers ahead!
When I last left you, gentle reader, here were my predictions for each of the couples on Love is Blind season 7:
- Marissa and Ramses 60/40
- Hannah and Nick 10/90
- Ashley and Tyler 70/30
- Alex and Tim 20/80
- Taylor and Garrett 85/15
- Monica and Stephen 40/60
If you've seen my couples prediction videos, you'll know that matchmaking is not my strong suit. Neither is gambling, apparently. Let's take a look at the couples and where they stand after episodes 6-9 of Love is Blind.
Week 2 Predictions
Marissa George and Ramses Prashad
Week 1 odds of saying I do: 60/40
Week 2 odds of saying I do: 25/75
I sure as heck don't want these two to get married. I had high hopes at first. They matched each other's energy and her bright, bubbly personality complement Ramses cool, calm and collected demeanor well.
What the heck did these two talk about in the pods besides astrology?! They didn't agree on their views on the military, which is a major deal breaker for Ramses. Another non-negotiable? Condoms.
I'm sorry, but what?! Now, I am not a man. I will never know what it's like to have junk. Therefore, I will never know what it's like from a man's point of view to use vs. not use a condom firsthand. However, I do know, regardless of someone's gender, that if you don't want babies, you have to use protection. Sex ed might not have taught me much, but I do remember that.
This man has the audacity to not want to use condoms because "it's not enjoyable", and I call bs on that, but also not want children immediately. Well, my dear, I hate to tell you that as bad as I am about predicting the future of your union, I am pretty good at predicting the end result of continuous unprotected sex. Marissa not wanting to take birth control is totally valid. It can really mess with your body and your hormones. She is ready and willing to accept the consequences. Ramses, however, is not. This doesn't compare to last season, when Amy and Johnny's views differed, mostly because Johnny wasn't as educated as he should be on the topic. Male birth control exists my dear. So if you don't want your own little Love is Blind baby for Vanessa Lachey to spoil, wrap it up, or suck it up.
Hannah Jiles and Nick "Nicky D" Dorka
Week 1 odds of saying I do: 10/90
Week 2 odds of saying I do: 30/70
Now once again, this is not a couple I personally have faith in. Hannah is mean girling her way all over her man. Even her parents told her to calm down. Her brother even commisserated with Nick over how Hannah tends to treat them. You know when your own brother is throwing you shade, it's red flag city.
Nick, however, still seems very dedicated to Hannah. He even goes so far as to say he likes when Hannah is assertive and bossy. To each their own I guess. I think he would say "I do" without hesitation.
Hannah is more of a wild card here. Fan speculation is she hasn't been attracted to Nick since their pod reveal. I could see that being the case. It certainly doesn't seem like she likes him very much. Their personalities are very different, and not in an opposites attract sort of way. The previews of her saying she made Nick into a man do not inspire faith in the couple either. Especially given Nick still lives with his parents, doesn't handle finances, and apparently has never boiled a pot of water in his life.
Hannah is very easily influenced though, as we've seen in the pods. And her family seems to really like Nick. Possibly more than they like Hannah. So could they convince her to walk down the aisle?
Ashley Adonsier and Tyler Francis
Week 1 odds of saying I do: 70/30
Week 2 odds of saying I do: 30/70
I'm so mad, I won't even include Tyler's face in this article. If you haven't read all the rumors coming out about Tyler, you might not understand what in the world is going on with the fight the couple has over Tyler withholding information about being a sperm donor. This is definitely information he should have shared in the pods. Or when talking about how many children the couple should have. Or when praying for their families. Or at any other moment in the history of their relationship.
Word on the street is Tyler isn't a sperm donor. Not that he doesn't have children, because he definitely does. Reality TV social media guru StorytimewithRikki has provided plenty of evidence suggesting that Tyler was an active father in his three children's lives up until a year before appearing on Love is Blind. It doesn't stop there either. He also allegedly pulled the wool over his ex-fiancee's eyes with the same story he told Ashley when confessing about his children. Tyler, Tyler, Tyler. Why?!?!?!
Despite all this, I do think Ashley is a pretty hardcore ride or die. So I'm not calling it quits on the couple just yet, but it's not looking good.
Alex Byrd and Tim Godbee
Week 1 odds of saying I do: 20/80
Week 2 odds of saying I do: 50/50
I really don't have much faith in the men this season. I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop and some kind of scandal coming out about Tim. He seems too good to be true. That moment with Alex's dad, who also seems to be some kind of saint, melted my heart. He really seems to have genuine intentions in his relationship with Alex.
I still don't know if they'll be able to fully recover from whatever happened in Mexico. We don't truly know what happened in their argument, but Alex putting her hand over Tim's mouth only two days in to meeting is not a good look. If you're that comfortable crossing boundaries day 2, what will it be like year 2, or 20?
I do think that Alex's dad being so fully accepting of Tim and her family's approval ranking very highly on her list of important relationship traits may sway her opinion more towards saying yes at the altar. Of the six couples, they're second most likely on my list to say I do.
Taylor Krause and Garrett Josemans
Week 1 odds of saying I do: 85/15
Week 2 odds of saying I do: 85/15
Please, almighty Love is Blind creators, tell me that true love still exists. There has to be ONE COUPLE that makes it for the long haul. Right?! RiGhT?!!?!!?!
These two have been my favorites from the pods. They seem to have a genuine bond that allows them to seriously address important issues, communicate well, and still have a good time. Seeing not only Taylor, but also Garrett comforting Monica (I'll get to that in a minute) also warmed my heart. He seems not only like a smitten kitten, but also like a stand up guy. The way he teared up at the thought of Taylor's family not approving of him was so endearing.
And how do you not love Taylor? She is the glue holding this season together. There for her man and her friends, calling out bad behavior in a fun way on her socials. I really have high hopes for these two. Do not let me down!
Monica Davis and Stephen Richardson
Week 1 odds of saying I do: 40/60
Week 2 odds of saying I do: 2/98
Stephen is also in the dog house for me. He has gotten a lot of hate for his sense of humor initially. Wasn't a red flag for me. I like the goofy side of the cast. I also thought Monica was being tough on him for not bringing her flowers while they were on vacation in a foreign country. It's really gone down hill fast from there though. Red flag 1: Inability to stop talking about sex. Red flag 2: Joking about all the women sliding into his DMs post show. Red flags 3-3,922: Sexting another woman, lying about it, the lies being the least believable in the history of man kind, having no reasonable explanation or ability to stay through a difficult conversation, etc, etc, etc.
Stephen, Stephen, Stephen. Why?????? You know what a great place would have been for you instead of Love is Blind? Anywhere else. Did you truly think you were going to be able to hide such a scandal and still come out smelling like roses for dozens of women to be throwing themselves at your feet? Actually, I've heard that happens with serial killers, so while not nearly the same level, nothing surprises me anymore.
The only reason I'm even giving them a 2% chance is he hinted on his own stories that he's down, but not out. That could very well be to fuel the fire, but who knows? Stranger things have happened.
Did your opinions on the Love is Blind couples change after this week's episodes?
