Buck up, buttercups! House of Villains season 2 may be coming to an end, but no need to jump on the sad sack bandwagon the remaining villains are on. We are so close to the finale, and the villains are feeling the walls closing in. Who will take home the $200,000 prize and who will be banished to the dungeon? Let's recap who's left in the lair after this week's blood bath.
Hit list nomination
Host Joel McHale wasn't wasting any time in this week's hit list nomination. Instead of the usual suspense to find out who is getting flipped into villain oblivion this week, the villains had an hour to decide between nominees Tiffany "New York" Pollard and Kandy Muse.
Wes doesn't waste any time rallying the troops to save his pal New York. Despite a very heartfelt plea from RuPaul's Drag Race icon Kandy, who shares hopes of helping mom retire from her Walmart job and a moving speech sharing the struggles of living in a world not built for them, Kandy is unanimously voted out. New York popping off and casting a testicular funk spell on Mr. Pectacular didn't even sway his vote. Damn, these villains have no shame.
With a final thank you to the fans and a single tear shed from Jessie Godderz, Kandy Muse is sent packing. The villains may be mourning their friend, but Wes isn't having it. Fans of The Challenge know his game and he finally shows his cards rallying the cast to stfu and start celebrating. This is what they're here for and they're one ousted villain closer to securing the bag. In the words of Wes, "this house is built on the foundation of villainry." When you're right, you're right. Personally, I think he channeled Safaree a bit too hard in those leather pants, but on with the show.
Butter royale challenge
If you're like me and cannot bear to suffer through another disgusting eating challenge, congrats, you're safe at least one more episode. Though food is involved in the final battle royale, it's not what anyone expects. Butter Joel in his birthday suit appears alongside the real Joel McHale to give the House of Villains...well, a lot of lard.
As the villains compete to keep their hands on his slippery sides and off his junk, the bees show their admiration for the royal butter man and quickly eliminate New York from the competition. She may be a bad b, but she isn't about those bad bees. Just as they're starting to come down to the final competitors, Wes jokes "can you imagine if Victoria were here?"
Imagine no more, as the lair chairs flip back to reveal the ousted villains returning to the mansion for the finale. Vicky, Camilla, Larissa, Teresa, Kandy and even Richard Hatch in his fur coat in 90 degree LA weather move back into the mansion to help decide the biggest supervillain of season 2 and taunt the remaining butter royale competitors, Wes Bergmann and Jessie Godderz. Wes was hoping to clinch the win, but can't quite bond with butter Joel long enough. Jessie once again wins the supervillain title and the power to nominate three villains to the hit list. With only four options, the one villain not nominated will automatically ride his coattails to the finale.
They're back with a vengeance
The eliminated villains reclaim their rooms, fight over better accomodations and generally cause a ruckus. Not our Bachelor babe Victoria, though. Since the house is short one bed, she is happy to create a cozy little nook of her own. We love an unbothered queen.
It's clear there are amends to be made between the semi-finalists and eliminated villains. Wes does his best to apologize to Vicky for sending her home, but even begging and getting down on one knee aren't enough to change her mind. She's a villain and she's going to hold a grudge.
Also not on the best terms are Safaree and New York. Despite both still being in the competition, the room shuffle has left Safaree without a place to sleep. And where does Tiffany think Safaree should stay? "On the floor like any good dog." How can you not love our villain of the year?
Final hit list
This is the moment I've been waiting for all season. Wes has been quietly puppet mastering behind the scenes, in true form after 40 seasons of The Challenge. As always, there has to be a big showdown and it's finally here.
If you recall last episode, Wes swore on his baby Lucy's life that he would bring Jessie to the finals if given the opportunity, and while Jessie doesn't have any children to sacrifice to the lair, he still makes a deal with the Challenge devil. Jessie may have been playing Mr. Nice Guy all season, but this is House of Villains, and it's finally time for the claws to come out.
After the obvious choice of New York, his biggest enemy of the season takes her place, Mr. Pectacular pulls a double back stab. Next up, his ally, Real Housewives Larsa Pippin is nominated. And in a not-so-surprising twist, Jessie goes back on his word and chooses Wes as his final nominee, making Safaree safe and giving him a spot alongside Jessie in the finals.
Wes isn't going quietly, though. After New York takes her alloted time to insult Jessie, it's Bergmann's turn. Jessie's biggest gripe with Wes was him not wanting to compete in another challenge, and Jessie is tired of it. He wants a Wesplanation.
Don't worry, Pecs, Wes is gonna give it to ya. It's not his fault he's MENSA, after all. The curse of having to be a genius and carry lesser villains through the seasons can wear on a person. He offers Jessie an autograph, letting him know where he stands. "I *am* the competition!" And that, dear readers, is what being a villain is truly all about.
