Welcome back to the Circle Bar Dude Ranch as we have a full house this week. There’s a lot of guests on the ranch, and that means everyone needs to step up. But that doesn’t preclude our would-be couples from taking some steps forward.

Romance on the Ranch

Last week, Hunter swallowed his pride and apologized to Katie, admitting that he fumbled things in their burgeoning relationship. That helped thaw the ice, but does it mean they can make some steps forward? That’s Hunter’s hope, as he’s paired with Katie to take a trio of adrenaline junkies on a ranch outing. They’re heading to a mine, but they soon convince Hunter to push the cart to max speeds.

The trip out thrills the guests and seems to make a positive impression on Katie. Hunter, playing every bit the gentleman, seems to be making inroads. When even the guests notice their chemistry, it’s clear these two are back on track. We see them flirting back-and-forth throughout the episode, culminating in a trip to the woods where Hunter proposes seeing where the relationship goes. Katie agrees, and we officially have a second couple.

As for our first couple, Gabby and Chase, there isn’t much movement. They seem happy together but don’t get much of a focus in this week’s episode. We’ll see where it goes moving forward.

Carson Steps Up

Meanwhile, the other fence mending that’s needed is Carson and Vern. It’s not about romance, it’s about doing the work. Carson had his very public blow up with Gabby, which was a distraction for him and everyone else. He realizes he needs to be better if he wants to be the Assistant Head Wrangler.

After making peace with the face that he and Gabby are through, Carson makes an overture to Vern, apologizing for being checked out and vowing to do better. And throughout this week’s episode, we see him embrace that leadership role and continue to step up. Hopefully it’s a sign he’s back on track.

Otherwise, it was a quiet episode. There were some outings, some work being done, and plenty of partying—which leads to morning after regrets for some of the Wranglers who have to get up early for work.

That’s it from the ranch this week. The Wranglers is available on The CW app and website.
