The Wranglers Episode 3 Recap: Hunter and Katie aren't on the same page this week
By Matthew Fox
Welcome back to the Circle Bar Dude Ranch where the drama and the hook ups are starting to pick up. But will there be a love connection? Let’s dive in!
Hunter and Katie
When we left off, it looked like this was going to be the first real coupling. Their connection is strong and there seemed to be mutal attraction. Following the party that closed last week’s episode, the two ended up sharing a bed, and the next morning the entire staff figured they hooked up. The couple didn’t exactly deny it, either.
Later, though, Hunter had misgivings. He didn’t like being the subject of everyone’s conversation. Nor did he feel comfortable with the warnings from his fellow male wranglers that hookups can create messy situations.
Later that night, when chatting with Katie, two things became clear—they didn’t fully hook up and Hunter is scared of the social pressure. He suggests they become friends, calling Katie “dude” and offering a fist bump. It doesn’t go over well. Unsurprisingly, Hunter has a change of heart later.
As he explains, he’s torn because he really likes her. When he tries to go back for an evening snuggle, he finds himself out in the cold. Can these two get back on track? Signs point to no, but we’ll see.
Other Happenings on the Ranch
The guests this week are a few dude-bros who think they can impress all the ladies. Their lack of game is matched only by their lack of skills on the ranch. While they try to make some moves, the ladies quickly put them in their place. Overall, the guest portion of the show makes for some dull TV to this point.
Elsewhere, the drama was the addition of a couple new Wranglers—Royce and Chase. Chase proudly declares that they’re a couple party dudes. Can they bring some new life to the ranch and create some new relationship drama? Perhaps. Chase is interested in Gabby and there might be some mutual admiration. But before we get that far, he flies through the air and lands on Carson’s knee. It doesn’t sit well on his chest.
The next day, Chase is having trouble breathing and coughing a lot. When he starts coughing up blood, it leads to a medical emergency. As we leave off, Chase is being treated and it’s clear all is not well. We’ll find out how badly he’s hurt next week.
