How old are the men on The Golden Bachelorette? Let's break down the cast ages!

Love is once again in the air on ABC and we’re about to watch history made once again this time courtesy of the debut season of The Golden Bachelorette! 

Following the success of The Golden Bachelor, which was a breakout hit for ABC last fall, the Bachelor Universe is growing once again this fall with the launch of The Golden Bachelorette. The new series will launch with some help from a familiar face in The Golden Bachelor fan favorite Joan Vassos, who is ready to find love again as our first Golden Bachelorette. 

Similarly to The Golden Bachelor, The Golden Bachelorette will bring together an amazing group of contestants looking to find someone to spend their golden years with. And while this season’s cast might be slightly older than the contestants from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, the average contestant of The Golden Bachelorette is actually younger than you might expect!  

The average Golden Bachelorette cast age is 64

When looking at the 24 men who will be competing in the first season of The Golden Bachelorette, the average age for a contestant on the show is 64 years old. This is actually three years younger than the average Golden Bachelor contestant, as the first season of the show cast contestants up to 75 years old giving the show an average cast age of 67 years old. 

Considering that Joan Vassos, 61, was actually one of the youngest contestants in Gerry Turner’s season of The Golden Bachelor, it makes sense that the average age for her contestants for the first season of The Golden Bachelorette is closer to her age compared to someone in their 70s as Vassos was 12 years Turner’s junior.

Fun fact, while ABC only cast three women older than The Golden Bachelor lead Gerry Turner, only three of the men competing in the first season of The Golden Bachelorette are younger than lead Joan Vassos: Chock (60), Gil (60), and Mark (57). 

As you might have just picked up on, Mark is the youngest member of The Golden Bachelorette cast at 57 years old making him 12 years younger than the oldest contestants of the season, Kim and Pascal, who are both age 69.
