Everything We Know about Netflix's The Later Daters
By Ricky Valero
If you are like me and have been longing for a new show to binge on since Love is Blind Season 7 ended, I've got good news for you all. We have a brand new show coming to Netflix to fill the gap until The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On debuts on December 4, and that is with The Later Daters. The upcoming dating show comes from the co-creators of Love on the Spectrum and the showrunner of Queer Eye. We share everything we know about the forthcoming dating series.
The Later Daters follows six baby boomers who, with the help of their adult kids, friends, and relationship experts, are getting another shot at love. Harvard-trained behavioral expert Logan Ury, author of "How Not to Die Alone," coaches the boomers to navigate the new dating world. From teaching them the different rules to online etiquette, Ury has his hands full, preparing them to find love.
Divorced, widowed, or even longtime single, each of these singles ends up forging deeper connections with their families and potential partners but, more importantly, themselves.
What can you expect from The Later Daters, and when can you watch it?
All eight episodes of The Later Daters will be available to stream on Netflix on November 29. It'll make for the perfect post-Thanksgiving binge-watch.
With the guidance and support of Ury and their relatives, six older singles will go on a series of blind dates until they find someone who is compatible. Ury will give them pep talks before the dates and follow up after to debrief them on how the dates went.
Is there a trailer for The Later Daters?
Yes. You can watch the trailer for the series below. It looks like a blend of Patti Stranger: The Matchmaker and The Golden Bachelor. I love seeing these older people still on the hunt for love even after all these years. In addition to the trailer, we share the names of the cast members looking for love.
The Later Daters singles range from divorcees to widowers from Atlanta, Georgia. The cast includes Anise (62), Suzanne (63), Nate (56), Pam (71), Lori (57), and Greg (61).
As someone with a massive love for Love on the Spectrum, the creators of that show know what it means to find true love, so I have high hopes for The Later Daters. This looks like it will be the perfect binge-watch over the holiday weekend.
