Dancing with the Stars Season 33 Night 7 Recap: The Ballroom bids farewell to The Bachelorette Contestant
By Matthew Fox
It was Halloween Night-mares on the dance floor Tuesday, as the remaining couples celebrated Halloween with some frightening costumes and dances. It also started raining 10s on the dais as the judges handed out their first perfect scores of the season. But it was the end for one of the couples as well.
Bachelorette Bids Farewell
In the end, it was Bachelorette Star Jenn Tran and her partner Sasha Farber who went home as the competition narrows to the final six couples. Beforehand, in their final individual dance, Jenn and Sasha nailed their Contemporary Dance. They earned their first 10 of the season—part of a run of 10s handed out to six of the seven couples. They also won the dance-off against Stephen Nedoroscik and his partner Rylee Arnold. That landed them with a solid 31, tied for third with the judges scores. But it wasn’t enough to save them.
Other Evening Highlights
Sitting atop the leaderboard were Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong. Their Viennese Waltz earned two 10s from the judges—handed out by Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli. They also earned three bonus points and immunity from the dance off thanks to finishing atop the leaderboard last week. Still, the couple ended up among the final three at the end of the night, an indication they might need more fan voting support.
The second-place finisher was Bachelor star Joey Graziadei, who continues to tear it up on the dance floor. He and partner Jenna Johnson earned their first 10—from Carrie Ann Inaba—for their Contemporary routine. Then, they managed to win the dance off against Danny Amendola and Witney Carson, which gave them a total of 32 points for the night.
The parade of 10s began with Dwight Howard, who got emotional with his partner Daniella Karagach after delivering a stirring Contemporary routine. Dwight got a 10 from Carrie Ann, giving him a total of 28 for the dance. He then won his dance off against Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten, giving him a total of 31 for the night.
Danny and Witney and Stephen and Rylee also earned their first 10s of the night. Their 10s came from Carrie Ann as well, leading them to a total of 28 for the night. Stephen and Rylee were the final couple in the last three left on stage.
The low score belonged to Ilona and Alan, who started off the night with a 24 out of 30 from the judges. Still, they remain in the competition.
Dancing With the Stars is off next week for the election but continues with the final six couples on Tuesday, November 12.
